Product Overview

The Grid Sensor Board is comprised of mounting hardware for the proximity sensors, Printed Wiring Board (PWB) for sensors and a 6-pin socket. A proximity sensor is a sensor used to detect the presence of nearby objects without any physical contact. This sensor often emits an electromagnetic field or a beam of electromagnetic radiation. It looks for changes in the field or return signal. This board is tested by measuring the resistance of grid sensor. Place the pointers of multi-meter at Pin-1 and Pin-2 of the connector to measure the resistance of grid sensor. Verify the measured value is below 1 ohm. The circuit board is made up of FR-4, which is a composite material that consists of glass fabric and electrical grade epoxy resin. The material is extremely strong and stiff, has a low coefficient of thermal expansion, and outstanding electrical properties. FR-4 is widely used as an insulator for electrical and electronic applications.
